This was taken on the 24/12, on my way to work at around 0600hrs. I've converted it  to a black and white image, I think it looks great........... or is it just the wine?

 Rain, wind and more wind! along with night shift, not a good combination. Hence the lack of photos at present.

 I'm not sure of the name of this bunch of tiny flowers on one of the trees in the yard, but they're quite pretty.

Magpie Moth.

 There's a lot of wildlife on the daisies at present. I've not seen one of these before, but I do like it's feathery antennae.

 This shot is one I took a wee while ago. I've been busy doing lots of things around the yard, while the good weather lasts. 

Young Blackbird.

 I've just realised that this is a young blackbird, not the mother thrush. You can see I'm no ornithologist, lol.

An Iris.

 I've spent (wasted) an awful lot of time trying to get a reasonable close up of one of these. This is one of the better ones!

Old Fence Post.

  Yet another wet day with gale force winds!!  

  This old lichen covered concrete fence post was taken from just inside my back door and was the only thing that wasn't bent double!

  I'm sussing out the new camera at present, will get the hang of it shortly..........

New Camera!

 I have shouted myself a new camera, it has an 18x zoom, my last camera had a 12x. This bee on an iris is one of the first macros on this camera. Now I just need some days off to spend more time playing with it, exciting stuff!!!

Duck's Road Trip.

 I was driving home from town this morning and encountered this family sunning themselves in the middle of the road. It was too late to stop and capture them all sunbathing, but was happy to snap them as they made their great escape.

 I have another shot of this barn further back on this site, but I like the colours in this one.

Spring????

 This was  around 0630 hrs on my way to work, there had been quite a bit of snow dumped over night, so much for spring!!

 I found this yesterday afternoon on a neighbouring farm, the sun was low and directly behind the tree.

 This beautiful fella is another neighbour, having a wee rest. ( He likes to be hand-fed lawn clippings ).

 This is what the inside of a tulip looks like.     I thought it was time for a bit of colour.

 I've been trying to capture these ducklings for days!  I had to be super quick, I'm amazed at how fast they can travel......

 These are  two volcanoes in the Nth Island, Mt Ruapehu, in the background, and Mt Ngaurahoe taken during my flight a couple of days ago.

 This was taken from the air, on a recent flight to see my family. I have increased the saturation slightly due to photographing through Lexan.

Kids and Steam Trains.

 This steam train trundled past the end of our garden, we jumped in the car and caught up with it just down the road where the school kids were checking it out. I do love steam trains!!

Gecko vs Lawnmower!

 There may not be too many photos over the next week, Gecko stupidly tried to clear the wet grass clippings from the bar the catcher sits on, while the lawnmower was going!! She is now sporting two fingers on her right hand that have broken bones, fortunately, the fingers are still intact, thanks to leather gloves.

 I'm not sure what the name of this butterfly is, but I'm certainly happy to see some signs of spring!!

  Looking out our back door....the hill was too much for this girl to climb to see if there was a pot of gold.
