This is dad who is 12 months old, and his offspring is now coming to our door for breakfast and/or dinner. They sing to us, entertain us with their play and generally great company.

I have spent a lot of time being entertained by these beautiful birds, and taken many, many photos of them.

I do enjoy the colour, light and the silhouettes at this time of the day.

Dried Mud.

This was a common sight around rivers and dams as at this stage the drought was in it's third year.

These areas are over flowing with people traveling in the cooler months.

Ah, The View.

I was on the 9th floor looking down on a very familiar sight .... enjoying their phones not their surroundings.

Flooded Causeway.

It's always interesting driving in the wet season coming across these, especially when you have no idea how deep, how fast the water is running, or if there are any crocodiles lurking.

Brolgas.

Such beautiful elegant birds, even in flight.

More Tropical Rain.

The kids love playing in the rain, mainly it gives some relief from the hot humid weather.

This did look amazing with the dark sky.

Cane Fire 2.

It doesn't take long to take off, and it is all over fairly quickly.

Another Corella.

I loved watching these excited fellas select a crust and then settle down to enjoy it. Some information on them.

I liked the sun shining through the smoke in the late afternoon.

Water Hole.

It was interesting to see a water hole appear in the middle of no where.

A beautiful time of the day.

Road Train.

It's very wise to pull over and let these fellas pass as they are often cruising at fairly fast speeds, and as you can see the road is not very wide.

A Jabiru.

A Pup.

I like the way the pup appeared not to be interested, but was definitely keeping an eye on things.

I love watching these birds, they're not exactly graceful.

Outback Rodeo 3.

This fella ended up face planting and missing the calf. I have a series of photos way back on this site.

This fella had just swallowed quite a large whole fish and was just moving it around to swallow.

Fox On The Run.

It was unusual to see a fox during the day and with people around.

Alpine Valley.

This is in the Snowy Mountains in NSW. You can see how large it is by the size of the vehicles in the distance.

Flying Jabiru.

They are tall, gangly birds, that I've seen very few of, and never in pairs.

Molasses Run.

There was around 10,000 litres in the tanker being delivered to a farmers stock to help feed them during the drought. There had been no wet season for 3 years at this stage, and you can see the state of the ground.

Very Wet Lorikeet.

The wetter they became, the noisier they got, and they absolutely loved it.

This was the road to our fishing spot in north Queensland.

Dawn, NSW.

I love the beautiful morning light and the colours in Australia.

Kingfisher.

I have never been able to capture a nice shiny, electric looking kingfisher.

Outback Cattlemen.

These are some tough, resourceful, hard working gentlemen who enjoy catching up with their neighbours who are often 100 or more kilometres away.

Corella.

These beauties are often mistaken for the yellow crested cockatoos, but are just as noisy.

The cat was a little miffed he had to share the water with the tree frog.

There's a lot of skill involved with using a lasso, and it comes in handy when it's time to muster their cattle in the outback.

I was about 80m away, and so delighted to have come across this beautiful bird.

It was late afternoon and we were heading home when we came across this lot.

Black Cockatoos.

Unfortunately I was unable to get any closer, they don't hang around when they see or hear humans.

Lorikeets are very affectionate, very entertaining and extremely noisy.

I love the expressions of both these birds. The smaller one was flapping around frantically trying to get out of the dish.

Outback Dreams.

This is a photo I took a few years ago when I was working in the outback. I'm sure this place has had some interesting times.

Calf Stopper.

Kids do come in handy when you want the calves to stay put while picking up the next one.

Good old corrugated iron, comes in handy for all sorts of things.
