Gecko, I prefer the wider panorama. Is it single frame cropped? Or is it a stitch? If the latter it is a darned fine job indeed.
I prefer it because it has a better feel of the kind of atmosphere that comes with winter.
Faced with that, I think I would have taken the same as your wider pano, in the form of 5 or 6 portrait (vertical) frames, and leaving out a part of the foreground. That would work well at about 250mm.... I could then choose between high and low horizon; more or less sky
Hi there,
It's fun checking out the garden to see what wild life is lurking, the scenery on my travels, or simply the weather.
I am using a Canon EOS 1000D digital camera.

I should be up in those hills this weekend.
Should be a bit warmer than last time you were there.
It should be. We will be somewhere up in those hills in your photo- the hut is directly west of your house.
Gosh, NZ is gorgeous! I love both pics.
Those hills are much bigger than they look!
Thanks Karen :) NZ is beautiful, even more so when it stops raining ......
OB, I'll take your word on that, as you won't find me out there walking them :)
This one is better. Hope you're feeling better now.
Thanks MK. I sure do feel better, it's taken a while though, nasty little bug!

I LIKE yours though.
Thank you Kirly on both counts :)
Thank you probligo. It's a single frame, and the sky and foreground have both been cropped.
