At the local golf course the paradise ducks have chicks and I watch the father valiantly protecting them from the magpies. I used to love the magpies... I guess that's nature.
I do love magpies and their bird song. I've not seen them attack other young chicks, but I've seen how aggressive Tuis are to some birds, was quite surprised.
