This is my attempt at capturing the moon, and yes, I did use a tripod for this. I'm not sure whether the red band on the left side of the moon is from the sun going down, or that is just how it looks from here.

Did you see the eclipse that happened a week or so ago. We saw part of it, but it wasn't too clear and we don't have the anything for a close up so bit of a fizzer..
Hi mk, I managed only glimpses, it was windy and cloudy. A shame, but I did see some great photos on the net.
