For those of us a bit to the north, it's hard to imagine a 'warm' Christmas or New Year's - we're dithering ~ 9 C during the day now - and it seems we've a rainy season to deal with this year - the ground is so boggy & swampy, one CAN'T walk without tracking mud all over ..........................
DM, This is most unusual for it to be so cold and wet at this time of the year. All I want is some warm, warm weather after our cold winter, I didn't think that was too much to ask :-(
Gorgeous! But isn't it normal to have snow on mountaintops even in summer? I used to live in California, and regardless of the season, you'd see snow on the Rockies.
As for it being unseasonably cold this year, I guess that's going for the whole planet. Global warming, you know. :-P
Thank you Karen. There are some larger mountains in NZ that do have snow all year round, these ones most certainly should not!! I'm still waiting for global warming to happen ;)
Karen - did you mean Colorado? Can't see the Rockies from California. Or maybe you meant snow on the Sierra Nevadas?
Diamond Mair - I can imagine a warm Christmas. I live in the Sonoran Desert! It's been running right around 70 degrees F here (I think that's about the low 20s C). Clear and sunny too! We put Xmas lights on our Saquaro Cactus! :-)
G'day Kirly, what a great place to live! I'd give anything to have the temperature in the low 20's and not gale force winds, as we've been having for weeks, or is that months now :(
Hi there,
It's fun checking out the garden to see what wild life is lurking, the scenery on my travels, or simply the weather.
I am using a Canon EOS 1000D digital camera.

And it's not as though they're very high hills...half the snow was gone by then too. (some of us were up early...)

Today should have been more to your liking!
It was OB, well what I saw of it. I worked last night and again tonight, so had to get some sleep :(
