I tried to get a very similar shot, but with the petals backlit and "translucent". It didn't work as well as I hoped - because the petals are too thick?
Thank you probligo :) No, I don't use a polariser. I'm learning by taking heaps of photos, chewing through batteries, and go out at various times of the day. The link below is a backlit datura flower (the leaves were pretty thin though)
