The couple of magpies we have around here are busy dive bombing the parrots and doves to make sure they don't run off with any of the lamb scraps.

Magpies make great pets, had a neighbour who had one when I lived in Dunedin.
Yeah, I've heard they make wonderful pets, I'm enjoying taming all the birds around here, they're all interesting.
I heard on the radio the other day that a magpie somewhere in NSW has been condemned to death row for being too aggressive.
I was dive bombed by one a while ago, fortunately i found a tree branch and took a few swings to make my escape.
I also hear the police are not going to shoot it, thank goodness. It's mating season, so I guess it's reasonable they're protective.
Years ago in nth Qld, I saw kids had eyes painted on the back of their caps as they rode to school, that seemed to stop the dive bombings, haha.
