The area starting to go dark, I thought I had one earlier on the site, but will see if i can capture a better shot. No, I'm not into Dian Fossey, I read about her some years ago, but not been back since.
Gecko, Spent the weekend in Dunedin and experienced the Otago museum's butterfly release. Absolutely lovely. They have built a multi level tropical enclosure heated to the high 20s with a waterfall, plants and stonework. They are constantly growing the most beautiful butterflies and they release them twice a day. This involves some coaxing. Many sit on people. And there are quail in the undergrowth. The place would be a particularly welcome respite in mid winter.
Thanks for that Lindsay, I'll certainly look into it as I've often thought of visiting one. There sure are some beautiful butterflies around and it was great seeing so many in Australia.
Hi there,
It's fun checking out the garden to see what wild life is lurking, the scenery on my travels, or simply the weather.
I am using a Canon EOS 1000D digital camera.

Where the colour is becoming blurry and less distinct I guess. Are you into Dian Fossey at all?
